Barrington officials announced recently that the pop-up asymptomatic Covid-19 testing site in town will remain open for an additional two weeks.

The testing site, which is located in the former Joseph A. Banks storefront in the Barrington Shopping Center, began offering rapid tests on Jan. 12. Officials initially planned for the site to remain open until Jan. 23, but Barrington Town Manager recently announced that the site would continue offering tests until Feb. 6.

The site is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Rhode Island National Guard and the Rhode Island Department of Health are co-sponsoring the test site, which is for asymptomatic testing only. Anyone who is sick or experiencing symptoms should schedule a test through portal.ri.gov.
