Carolyn F. Feiro, 70, of Turner Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on August 25, 2013. She was the wife of Duane H. Feiro.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Helen (Edwards) Afflerbach, she lived in Riverside for 40 years. Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Besides her husband of 50 years, she is survived by a son; Scott B. Feiro of Riverside, a daughter; Susan L. Feiro of Riverside and three brothers; Robert T. Alling of Norway, Maine, Alan A. Afflerbach of North Port, Fla., and Stephen G. Afflerbach of Swansea.  She was the sister of the late Thomas B. Alling.

Her funeral service will be private. Burial will be held in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements are by the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, Riverside.  www.wrwatsonfuneralhome.com

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
