Cheryl Ann (Wyka) Fitzgerald, 75, of Warren, died on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at home. She was the wife of Timothy Lee Fitzgerald.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Komeiga) Wyka.
Mrs. Fitzgerald had worked as a nurse practitioner for more than 40 years. Most of her career was spent with Veterans Health Administration before retiring in 2001. She spent another 10 years in various positions before finally retiring in 2015 due to ill health. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Bristol. She was the one of the first nurse practitioner in the State of Rhode Island. She was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Gulf War.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Lee Fitzgerald of Warren, RI; her sister, Jean Chrupcala of Bristol, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 9:30 AM from Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bristol, 330 Wood St., Bristol.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol, RI.
