David Blinkhorn, 53, Riverside

David "Blinky" Blinkhorn, 53, of Riverside passed away peacefully September 22, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving wife/caregiver Susan (Corrado) Blinkhorn, his stepchildren Alicia Corrado, Keith Corrado and his wife Crystal and his grandson Jayden Corrado. He was the beloved son of Irving Blinkhorn Sr. and Barbara Maguire.

David was an equipment operator for Clean Harbors Environmental Services for the last 22 years before his illness. He is also survived by his brothers Jim, Dean, Bobby and Jeff Blinkhorn and his twin sister Dawne Ciambrone. David will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours for David will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a funeral service to follow immediately in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave., Riverside. Burial will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
