It’s a day for fun bird-themed activities for the whole family. Free with admission. No registration required. Craft table 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., nature story at 10 a.m., animal interview at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and a Turkey Trot Nature Walk at 1 p.m.: Walk off your turkey dinner (weather permitting) and learn about the wildlife at the center.

WHAT: Day after Thanksgiving activities

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s Nature Center and Aquarium, 1401 Hope St., Warren/Bristol town line

COST: Free with admission ($6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 ages 4 to 12, and free for children under 4 and members).

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
