Senior running back Payton Murphy scored five touchdowns as the Barrington High School football team rolled to a 35-20 victory over Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, Nov. 10.
The Eagles relied on its running attack, amassing 328 yards in rushing against the Kilties.
Murphy carried the ball 25 times for 108 yards and the five scores, while junior quarterback Alex McClelland ran the ball 16 times for 178 yards, averaging more than 10 yards per carry. AJ DiOrio carried the ball five times for 32 yards, and Luca Marino, Will Hopkins and Spencer Proulx also ran the ball.
Barrington scheduled the non-league game against Mt. Pleasant as a warmup for the Thanksgiving Day game against Mt. Hope. This year’s rivalry game between the Huskies and Eagles will be played in Bristol.
