Elizabeth Anne Carvalho, 41, of Tiverton, RI passed away after a brief illness at St. Annes Hospital on Saturday, February 19, 2022, surrounded by family.

Liz was the daughter of Donna (Carvalho) Truppi and her stepfather Paul of Tiverton. Liz graduated from Tiverton High School, where she was known by her many friends as Duce. Liz graduated from Bristol Community College School of Nursing and was an RN. She had been employed by Heatherwood Nursing Center in Newport.

Liz had a great sense of humor and was very outspoken. Liz made friends wherever she went. She especially enjoyed trips to Foxwoods for bingo and her scratch tickets.

Besides her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her daughter, Adriana Carvalho of Tiverton, her brother, Kevin G. Goulet (Amy) of Tiverton, her grandmother, Nancy Carvalho of Tiverton, her nieces, Samantha and Madison Goulet of Tiverton, her godmother, Barbara Bouchard of Tiverton and her cousin, Jonathan Bouchard of Cranston. Liz was the granddaughter of the late George Carvalho, great-granddaughter of the late Antoinette Roderick and cousin of the late Rebecca Bouchard. Liz's family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Sahin of the Fall River Wound Clinic. 

Visitation Friday from 6-9 p.m.  Her funeral will be held on Saturday at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home 462 Main Road, Tiverton, RI with arrival time at 11:30 am for a service at noon.  Burial at Hillside Cemeterry.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
