Elizabeth R. “Betsy” (Ingalls) Jansen, 73, of Little Compton, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the longtime companion of Terry D. Quick of Little Compton.
Mrs. Jansen was born in Boston, daughter of the late Theodore H. and Mary (Smith) Ingalls. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a registered nurse and was known in her community as being a very compassionate nurse. She was the co-founder of Hospice of Fall River. She attended the First Baptist Old Stone Church in Tiverton and was a brilliant painter and sculptor.
Survivors along with her companion include her son, Thomas W. Jansen of New Bedford; her daughter, Laura I. Slingerland and her husband Paul of Fairfax, Va.; brother, Theodore “Ted” Ingalls of South Dartmouth; sister, Mary I. Waddell of Tiverton; three grandchildren, Christopher P. Slingerland, Thomas G. Jansen and Samuel S. Jansen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Little Compton Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 552, Little Compton, RI 02837.
