Emily Silvia, 99, Bristol

Emily (Alves) Silvia, 99, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Frank Coite Silvia.

Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Emma (Cabral) Alves. She was the mother of John F. Silvia, Steven M. Silvia and the late Robert Silvia and the sister of Elsie Cabral and Dorothy Marshall.

Mrs. Silvia attended Bristol schools and was employed by Collins & Aikmen before retiring.

Her funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth Church. Liturgical readings were by Katie Silvia and Michelle Silvia. The offertory gifts were presented by John McGowan and Carrie McGowan.  Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Steven Silvia, Steven Sweeney, Joshua Canario, Kyle Batista, David Silvia Jr., Charles Chadsey and Michael Chadsey.
