This Saturday, March 4, local singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Ben Shaw will be joined by the Providence-based roots/jazz innovators Evening Sky at the Warren House of Pizza for an intimate night of jazz tinged roots songs.
They’ll be playing music from Shaw’s latest album/novella “Madeline” in ways they haven’t been played before as well as selections from their “Evening Sky + 1: Ben Shaw” collaboration album.
When asked about partnering with Evening Sky, Shaw said, “We’ve been talking about doing this for a long time and I am really excited that we’re finally giving it a shot. After reflecting the past couple months on how grateful I was to be back performing all last year I decided my focus this upcoming year is to make every performance special in some way and what better way to do that than by recruiting Evening Sky to help me explore these songs in ways only they would be able to. Having a lineup that I can trust to bring their own unique voice means together we’ll discover exciting new paths through these tunes, be able to experiment, and craft a special experience for everyone there with us. Besides, these guys are monster players so any chance to see them do their thing is a good night!”
Opening the night will be local singer/songwriter and Warren area favorite Emma Bee.
