PORTSMOUTH — The East Providence High-Mt. Hope High School co-operative hockey squad dropped its latest Division II outing played Wednesday night, Jan. 4, a 10-3 decision to Portsmouth High at the Portsmouth Abbey rink.

The loss left the Townie-Husky contingent with a 0-4-0 record in the early going of the league season.

Three Mt. Hope players accounted for the team’s tallies. Oliver Browne, from Ben Browne, got his side on the board with his first goal of the year near the beginning of the second period. The Patriots led 5-0 through the opening stanza.

After Portsmouth potted the next three goals to take an 8-1 lead, Jackson Harney, from Ben Browne again, got one back for Mt. Hope-EPHS late in the second. Harney then added sixth of the year early in the third off an Oliver Browne helper.
