Herreshoff's Sunset Music Series resumes Thursday night

The Sunset Music Series kicks things off on Thursday, July 11, with Neal and the Vipers and concludes on Aug. 29 with Roomful of Blues, with a great lineup in between. There are tables, chairs and picnic tables or bring your own chairs. Food vendors and BYOB (booze or food).

WHAT: Summer Sunset Music Series

WHEN: Thursdays, July 11 to Aug. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., rain or shine

WHERE: Herreshoff Marine Museum waterfront (Hope and Burnside streets) under the tent

COST: $35; $25 for members. Online ticket sales close at 3:30 p.m. on the day of each concert or get tickets at the door.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
