Imago hosts first in a new series of Sunday concerts

Posted

Music At Imago monthly concerts begin again on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. Performing this Sunday is Áine Minogue. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Imago has joined with local restaurants to help make dining easy after the show. The full schedule for the season is listed below.

Minogue, who performs Irish harp with vocals, proves beyond reasonable doubt why the harp is indeed the instrument of angels.

Born and raised in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Áine has worked to explore traditional Irish music, underpinning her success in arranging and composing her own music. Her voice, though uniquely her own, also reflects the lyricism and richness to be founin Irish music, mythology, and poetry. Áine’s recording, “Celtic Lamentations”, was awarded Celtic Album of the Year (NAV Lifestyle Awards), and her harp has entertained Presidents and Prime Ministers.

Admission is $18

Tickets are available at the door or may be purchased in advance on EventBrite at: https://minogueatimago.eventbrite.com or reserved by emailing MusicAtImago@gmail.com or calling 401-392-1322.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
