Joseph A. Pelland, Jr., 76 of Bristol, died Saturday. He was the husband of the late Linda L. Pelland.

Mr. Pelland was a Kitchen Supervisor for the State of Rhode Island for over 20 years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran. He was a 23 year member of the Bristol County Lions Club, having served at President and Secretary. He was the founder of the Scholarship Fund Breakfast.  He was an avid golfer and bowler.

He was the father of Michael Pelland, Gerald Marshall, Jr., Michele Pelland, and Vicki Cairrao.  He leaves a brother, Eugene “Sonny” Pelland, and a sister, Marie Trafford. Grandfather to Gregory Pelland and Tyler Marshall. Great Grandfather to Harley, Angelina and Lilly Marshall.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends, Thursday, February 4, 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 5, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bristol County Lions Club, PO Box 534, Bristol, RI 0280
