Judy Puleston, age 85, of Barrington, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Judy was a graduate of Boston University. She received a Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling and social work from Rhode Island College and later worked in private practice in Providence.

She and former husband Bob survived an airplane accident in 1970. To aid in her recovery, she began therapeutic lap swimming at the Barrington YMCA and extended her interest in the sport to competing in New England Masters swimming events locally and around the country. Judy developed many interests over the years: photography, kayaking, several book clubs and the Hameho Garden Club. A private service will be held at a later date. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
