Letter: Anti-LGBTQ letters lack morality or virtues

Posted

I am writing in response to the letters written by Michael Byrnes and Peter Hewett in the June 6 edition of the Phoenix. They both used words like morality, virtues, but they don’t see that their views and assumptions about the LGBTQ population lack morality, lack virtues.

Words matter, and the words in their letters make gay, transgender adults feel anything but accepted or understood. Both of these Bristol residents should actually do their due diligence, and find out about the LGBTQ community, including drag queens, before they assume that “impressionable children” will be at risk if they are in the presence of an ‘evil (drag) queen.’
