Letter: Impressed with Bristol Golf Park

Posted

To the editor:

This past summer I participated in the Bristol Golf Park’s inaugural Women’s Golf League held on Wednesday afternoons. I had not played golf in a number of years and I suspect had I not committed to the weekly matches golf would have remained on my To Do Wish List.

Instead I got reacquainted with the game and met friendly supportive women golfers of various abilities from across the East Bay and Aquidneck Island. The Northeast Golf Company which manages the course, and specifically staffer Drew Brown, who ran the program did a terrific job with it.

I am grateful to the Town of Bristol, Northeast Golf Company and Vigilant Brewing for working together over the past few years to restore the 9-Hole Par 3 course. Whether you are looking for league play or just learning the game, I encourage others to take advantage of this wonderful Town of Bristol resource: it's convenient, affordable and an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours getting some exercise and fresh air.
