To the editor:
I have read all the flyers I have received from everyone running for office in East Providence and not one of them mentions doing anything for us seniors Seems like we don't even exist.
I have been paying taxes in East Providence for almost 60 years. It seems about time that something was done to help us and stop pushing us out of our homes.
Many of the cities in Rhode Island stop collecting taxes when you reach a certain age. Others stop raising taxes at a certain age. Providence is doing this in 2023.
Helping our seniors is long past due in East Providence. Hopefully this will open some eyes but I doubt it.
Sincerely,
Shirley Ferrucci
East Providence
