Letter: Thank you all for supporting Warren Little League

To the editor:

On behalf of the Warren Little League board of directors, coaches, families and players, I’d like to offer a wholehearted thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate the opening of our season on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Our little East Bay community showed up strong for the players all day. At 9:00 a.m. we marched proudly down Main Street and headed to Fred J. Jannitto Memorial Park on Water Street to kick off the 71st season of Warren Little League. It seemed like the whole town was out to show their support for the players as they chanted and laughed their way to the field.

I’d like to thank the Warren Police Department and Fire Department for shutting down Main Street to keep our kids safe and generally for all of the support they offer year-round to these players and our league. It was great to have them with us on that special day.

Of course we couldn’t operate the league without the generous support of our sponsors. It truly takes a village and we’re forever grateful for all of them. Signs displaying their logos are hung along the outfield fence at Jannitto Park – supporting them is supporting us.

Finally, I’d like to thank Fr. Joseph Upton and St. Mary of the Bay Parish for being such a great partner. St. Mary of the Bay has generously hosted WLL over the years and their kindness and support is very much appreciated.

We’re very lucky to call Warren home and are proud members of this wonderful community. Thanks to everyone for being there for these kids and for making WLL feel welcome in this great little town.
Play ball!
