Letter: We owe school nurses a big ‘Thank-you’

To the editor:

We are finishing the first month of in person school. The Covid Delta variant has been exploding throughout our state and country. The virus has a short incubation load period and high viral load. The symptoms are non-specific, ranging from simple cough, runny nose to headaches and elevated temperatures.

Our nurses have a daunting task trying to differentiate the symptoms of Covid from routine colds. The nurses are a dedicated, sensitive people striving to keep our children healthy and in school. The nurses have to screen for Covid besides doing their daily routine care.

We the parents of Barrington should be thankful and proud of this group of women. I would suggest we offer the nurses a robust thank you for their work .
