Will someone please tell me where we Tiverton homeowners are supposed to take our yard waste now that our town dump is closed?

The town gave us one week this Spring when its trucks picked up yard waste. But the reality is dead branches and leaves fall every week for months. Most homeowners have piles of this stuff accumulating in their yards and no place to put it.

It seems to me the town is tacitly encouraging homeowners to illegally dump their yard waste in quiet corners of town or in darkened public spaces.

Until Tiverton makes arrangements to reopen a town dump or transfer station, the town owes its residents the service of collecting not only trash but yard waste.

As the town is poised to raise property taxes, again, it seems to me this isn't the time to cut services to Tiverton residents.
