There was rain.
There was lightning.
There was thunder.
But all the inclement weather on Tuesday, July 4 could not stop the 45th annual Watson Avenue neighborhood parade from taking place.
The parade runs along Watson Avenue, Clarke Road, Adelaide Avenue and Payne Road each Fourth of July. It is filled with kids riding their bicycles and people walking their dogs. In previous years, one resident would deck out his old Jeep with red, white and blue banners and roll it along the route.
This year, residents took time to thank the Barrington Police Department for lending one of its officers to lead the parade through the neighborhood.
“The rain stopped just in time for us to celebrate America and our special neighborhood!” Wrote one resident.
