Newport Vineyards hosts 20th annual Spring Festival

Newport Vineyards is raising its glasses to Spring with its 20th Annual Spring Festival this weekend. There will be tastings from their wine and beer bars, live music, delicious bites from the kitchens, grape stomping, pie eating contests, and more. The Saturday sessions are sold out, but tickets remain for the Sunday sessions.

Sunday, April 30

  • Session 1: 11:30am-2pm (Real Weird Band)
  • Session 2: 2:30pm-5pm (Real Weird Band)

DETAILS: Ticket includes admission to specific session, souvenir vineyard logo glass & tasting – your choice of 5 tastes from our wine AND beer bars! Food items & additional beverages available for purchase.
Grape stomping will take place at 12:15pm & 3:15pm each day. The pie eating contest will take place at 1:15pm & 4:15pm. Feeling competitive? If you’re interested in the chance to participate, be sure to be near the contests a few minutes before the scheduled times! Interested contestants will be randomly selected from the audience.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
