Olivia (Ramos) Tavares, 86, of Wood Street, Bristol, passed away on Aug. 5, 2021, at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Tavares.
Born in Sao Vincente Ferreira, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Alexandrina (Pereira) Ramos. She was the mother of Manuel Tavares, Filomena Sequeira, and Susie Araujo; grandmother of Shelly Goudreau, Bethany Tavares, Christina Jesus, Michael Sequeira, Jessica Sequeira, Melissa Sequeira, Stacy Araujo, Eric Araujo and Nikki Araujo; and great-grandmother of Ethan Goudreau, Cole Goudreau, Grace Goudreau, Talan Tavares, Skylan Tavares, Keaton Tavares, Antonio Jesus, Diego Jesus, Isabella Jesus, Gaetano Pollando, Jezeyl Sequeira, Madison Sequeira and Riley Capehart. She was the sister of Mary Lou Cabral and the late Mariana Lima, Manuel Ramos Pereira and Maria Pereira.
Mrs. Tavares was employed by Smith Manufacturing before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Committee.
Her funeral services were held Aug. 18 from the George Lima Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
