The Westport Board of Health will sponsor “The Impact of Opioid Addiction on Individuals, Families, and Communities: A Public Health Crisis,” next Wednesday, May 22, in the middle high school auditorium. It runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and doors open at 5:30.
Stephanie Perry, RN CARN, an outreach addiction nurse with the Southcoast Hospital Community Wellness Program, will speak about the physical and psychosocial impact of opioid addiction.
Olive Wicherski MPH, Shared Service Coordinator of the Southcoast Public Health Collaborative, will address the impact of opioid addiction on communities and public health.
And guest speakers Pam Clarkson, a parent, and Tommy Frietas, a person in recovery, will share their personal experiences.
The event is free and is open to all teens and adults.
