Phyllis D. (Gaskell) Campion,  85, of Tiverton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 in the New Bedford Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Campion.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Harrison) Gaskell, she spent her youth in Fall River before moving to Tiverton 55 years ago. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School and was employed for the Former New England Telephone and Bell Atlantic for over 30 years.

Mrs. Campion was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Classy Ladies. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends, as well as trips to Foxwoods and Newport Jai-Alia. She was also an avid reader, sports fan and treasured her Tuesday lunches with friends and dinners with the “Birthday Girls.”

She is survived by her four children, Edward W. Campion and his wife Paula Sullivan of Westport, Robert T. Campion and his wife Patricia of Tiverton, Richard K. Campion of Tiverton and Irene V. Gagnon and her husband Robert of Bristol; four grandchildren, Doyle, Kendall, Jonathan and Heather Campion; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Campion was also the mother of the late Todd J. and Thomas W. Campion, and sister of the late Luke, John, Raymond, Arthur, Robert “Harry” and Frederick Gaskell, Hilda Rapoza, Ellen Wahl and Amanda Strange.

Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Amicable Congregational Church, 3804 Main Road, Tiverton.
