PORTSMOUTH — It will be a local matchup made in heaven on Saturday, when the Division II boys’ hockey championship will be played at Schneider Arena at Providence College.

The Portsmouth Patriots won Sunday’s semifinal game at PC against Narragansett/Chariho by a score of 2-1.

They’ll advance to play in the championship game against RMT (Rogers, Middletown, Tiverton). The Vikings defeated Ponaganset in their semifinal matchup, also at PC, by a score of 2-1.

The Patriots are 16-4-2 and the Vikings are 16-2-2. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie on Jan. 15.

Saturday’s championship game begins at 1 p.m.

Tickets must be purchased before the game, as none will be sold at the door. Visit https://gofan.co/app/school/RIIL.
