PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Patriots boys’ soccer squad overwhelmed visiting Mt. Hope in a league game last Wednesday, Sept. 28, shutting out the Huskies by a score of 5-0.
Portsmouth scored two goals in the first half and three in the second.
The win brought the Patriots’s record to 3-2-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the State Championship division. The Huskies are winless with a 0-7 record.
Portsmouth was scheduled to play at South Kingstown (3-1 in the league) on Wednesday, Oct. 5, before retiring home to square off against Tolman on Friday, Oct. 7.
The team then hosts Bishop Hendricken on Wednesday, Oct. 12, before traveling to Barrington on Saturday, Oct. 15.
