Richard Normand Clement,  73, of Tiverton, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2021.  He was the husband of 34 years to Elizabeth Irene (Munroe) Clement.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Emma (Thibodeau) and Normand Clement.

Rick was a member of the Teamsters, Local 251, and spent many years at Cardi Corporation, driving a cement mixer.  He also served many years as the shop steward at Cardi's Portsmouth location.  Rick also found time to own and operate a DJ business for several decades.

He was a member of South Swansea Baptist Church, serving as a trustee.

Rick enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling, especially to Disney which Rick and Liz visited 15 times with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a stepson, Brandon Kidd, and Papa's granddaughter Meredith Kidd.  He was the stepfather of the late Donald Kidd Jr.  He also leaves his siblings, Lorraine McLea and Jeanette Barbato, along with many nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Albert Clement, Yvette Souza, Phillipe Clement and Roger Clement.

Private arrangements were with the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
