Sea to Table Tasting

Posted

Take an epicurean tour of the sea, East Bay style. Rhode Island is home to a thriving seafood culture and industry with a deep heritage and bright future. Spend an evening sampling the harvest from some of the richest waters in the world — or as we like to call it, our backyard. Join us at The Barn at historic Mount Hope Farm for a night of locally-sourced seafood, craft beer and wine.

In concert with East Bay Restaurant Week, East Bay Events is hosting an evening that shines a spotlight on amazing local chefs and their growing relationship with local shellfishermen, shellfish farmers and fisherman — and the value of locally-sourced food. We are pairing local chefs, who are creating amazing food, with the local fisherman and farmers that are sourcing some of their seafood.

The event is a Sea to Table Tasting, sponsored by Foley Fish, we will showcase amazing local chefs, their creations and the people who are raising and catching (aquaculture, oyster farmers, etc.) the ingredients right in our backyard. #seatotable

As an added element of localy-sourced food and drink The Bucket Brewery is creating a special batch, limited edition brew conceived of and created in collaboration with local chefs and fishermen. The resulting craft beer will debut at the Sea to Table event and be available exclusively at East Bay Restaurant Week participating restaurants during East Bay Restaurant Week, followed by a wider release.

We are also thrilled to have Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery showcasing their amazing wine to add to the local flavor of the event.

Additionally we are incorporating some folks from the aquaculture program at Roger Williams University to illustrate the total commitment to a sustainable seafood culture and industry right here in our community.
