The Barrington High School boys basketball team outscored Narragansett 17-1 in the second period and rolled to a 66-54 victory on Wednesday night, Jan. 25.

Sean Bonneau played a key role in the Eagles’ victory. 

The Barrington senior knocked down eight three-pointers and scored a game-high 28 points, including 19 in the first half. Bonneau also sank a buzzer-beater as time expired at the end of the second period. 

Owen Pfeffer hit a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter, giving the Eagles a 51-39 lead. Matt Raffa scored 10 of his 17 points in the second half, while Nick Scandura added 8 points and Evan Anderson chipped in with four. Dan Coogan and Matt Leonard rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.

Owen Degnan led the Mariners with 23 points, while Mekhi Wilson added 17.

Barrington improved to 9-6 overall and 7-4 in Division 1 league play. Barrington will play at East Greenwich on Friday night, Jan. 27.

Televised game, white-out

Channel 10 will broadcast Barrington High School's game against Cumberland on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. Barrington officials are asking Eagles fans to wear white, as they plan to have a "white-out" for the game.
