The Narrows Center for the Arts and Mechanics Cooperative Bank present Take Me to the River, an evening of music by Grammy winners Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore with the Guilty Ones, insurgent-country rock of Cracker, and soulful blues and funk stylings by Vanessa Collier. Arts and crafts, food trucks and drinks. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Free trolley service from parking lots in and around the area.

WHAT: Take Me to the River Festival

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 24, from 4 to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Tom Norton City Pier, Davol Street, Fall River

COST: Free and open to the public
