Tap-In is now offering extended hours

Nonprofit will be open Thursday afternoons

Posted

Touch A Person In Need (Tap-In), a nonprofit agency committed to helping people in need throughout East Providence, Barrington, Warren and Bristol, has added afternoon hours.

For years, Tap-In has been open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon. But this week, Tap-In officials announced that they would be adding afternoon hours one day a week. The Barrington-based agency will be open Thursdays, from 4 to 7 p.m. The nonprofit is located at 281 County Road, in the first floor level of the Barrington Public Library building.

Official decided to offer the afternoon hours because some people have found it difficult to stop by during the earlier hours.

In addition to food assistance, Tap-In also provides other essential supplies such as children's clothing and transportation for medical appointments.

“Our delivery services are prioritized for those most in need, such as individuals with disabilities, those in poor health, or without transportation, ensuring support reaches those who need it most,” stated a press release.

Anyone interested in donating or requesting furniture should call 247-1444.
