EAST PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) recently named “The Rhode Show,” produced in city at the WPRI Television studios on Catamore Boulevard by East Providence resident Ashley Erling, as the recipient of the 2019 “Media Partner of the Year Award” at the 30th Annual “Stars of the Industry” Awards Ceremony held at Twin River Casino Hotel Event Center in Lincoln.

Ms. Erling and The Rhode Show received the accolade for their “In the Kitchen” segments highlighting Rhode Island’s robust culinary scene. The food and drink lifestyle stories feature local restaurant owners and promote the amazing talents of these industry professionals.

“The Rhode Show,” especially among the station’s offerings, has a distinct East Providence flavor. Co-hosts Michaela Johnson and Will Gilbert being natives of the city. Likewise, the show’s third co-host, Brendan Kirby, also has local ties.

Ms. Erling has been in the television industry for more than a decade and is currently the Director of Local Content for WPRI 12, FOX Providence, THE CW Providence and MyRI TV. She oversees “The Rhode Show” along with all other local programing across those stations.

“The Rhode Show led by Ashley Erling is truly a must-watch in the morning,” said Dale J. Venturini, President and CEO of RIHA. “I love that they are dedicated to the community, focusing on news, entertainment, lifestyle, and, of course, cooking.”

Ms. Erling also has a weekly series on The Rhode Show called Eye on RI spotlighting local events.
