Two houses of worship in Barrington report suspicious person

Middletown man stops by temple and church

Posted

Barrington Police responded to Temple Habonim on Monday, Oct. 3, for a report of a suspicious person who was trying to enter the building.

Police spoke to a person at the temple. She said the man tried to enter, and when she spoke to him he asked if she knew of any other churches who would let him in.

Police also spoke with the pastor at St. James Church; the pastor said a similar situation occurred there. The same man had stopped by St. James.

Police ran the license plates for the vehicle the man was driving — he is a Middletown resident and does not have a criminal record. Police checked with officials from the other churches in town, but they said the man had not stopped there.
