EAST PROVIDENCE — With wind chills expected to take temperatures well below zero throughout the area over the next 24 hours, East Providence has announced three warming centers in the city will be open to residents in need of shelter.
The Riverside Library, on Bullocks Point Avenue, will serve as a location in south end of the city, Weaver Library on Grove Avenue in the center and Newman Congregational Church on Newman Avenue on the north side.
The Weaver site is available to residents on Friday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 4, Riverside will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Weaver from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Newman also from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
