A total of 2,561 nip bottles were collected along town streets and sidewalks this year as part of the town-wide clean-up project held close to Earth Day each year.
Nip bottles and used plastic dog waste bags were among the most frequent items found. Overall, however, participants commented that litter in the Town appears to be diminishing over the past several years, which is the objective of the Conservation Commission.
For context, last year’s nip bottle cleanup resulted in 5,408 bottles being picked up just among the top three gatherers. Photos of the event can be found at the WarrenConservation.org website.
