To the editor:

I want to thank all the volunteers who joined us at St. John’s on Saturday, Sept. 28 as we went about unloading all the pumpkins. 

There were all levels of Boy and Girl Scouts, members of the Natural Honor Society, the Interact Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and many others. Thousands of pumpkins were unloaded and arranged on the front lawn of St. John’s in a little under two hours thanks to their hard work. 

We at St. John’s are so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you. We are thankful not just that you saved us from many more hours emptying a tractor trailer truck of pumpkins, but also that by doing so you have joined us in helping to support the community of Navajoland. The organization that provides our pumpkins is operated out of Navajoland which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the United States. By partnering with them we are able to do a small part in bringing hundreds of seasonal jobs and around twenty year round jobs to a community that desperately needs those jobs. 

To everyone who helped to unload the truck I cannot thank you enough. And to everyone who plans to stop by the pumpkin patch at St. John’s we look forward to welcoming you and want to thank you as well for helping to support this organization.
