Westport police logs: A friendly visit, and a few arrests

Sunday, Sept. 22

A 911 caller from Davis Road reported a stolen vehicle at 3:02 a.m.

A Kaila’s Way caller complained of vandalism at 7:23 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from American Legion Highway at 9:26 a.m. and again at 9:43 a.m. Similar calls came in from Stella Lane at 10:51 a.m. and Seabury Lane at 6:39 p.m.

A Paul Drive caller reported a breaking and entering at 10:31 a.m.; a similar call came in from Romano Village Drive at 11:33 a.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and cited one driver over the course of the day.

Monday, Sept. 23

A caller altered police to a car fire on State Road at 12:34 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles and cited two drivers over the course of the day.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

A stolen motor vehicle was reportedly recovered on Highland Avenue at 10:50 a.m.

A Plymouth Boulevard resident complained of identity fraud at 2:45 p.m.

Police were alerted to a neighbor dispute on Gadoury Street at 5:48 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a structure fire on D Drive was transferred to the fire department at 6:06 p.m.

A caller from Village Way reported suspicious activity at 10:31 p.m.

A noise complaint came in from Sanford Road at 11:06 p.m.

There were no reports of traffic stops throughout the day.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

Police investigated a 911 complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Third Avenue at 12:21 p.m.

A Sanford Road resident complained of excessive noise at 1:31 p.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a restraining order on American Legion Highway at 5:11 p.m.

Police served a restraining order on State Road at 6:02 p.m.

There were no motor vehicle stops reported over the course of the day.

Thursday, Sept. 26

A caller from Old Bedford Road reported a disturbance at 6:35 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a summons on Faulkner Street at 1:07 p.m. The summons was successfully served at 5:43 p.m.

Police received a 911 call about a suspicious person on Route 88 at 6:04 p.m., but deemed the call unfounded.

A caller from Tickle Road reported an unwanted person at 6:43 p.m.

A 911 caller from White Oak Run reported suspicious activity at 8:19 p.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

Police pulled over four vehicles and cited one driver over the course of the day.

Friday, Sept. 27

Police received a 911 call regarding a Westport High School incident at 9:14 a.m. It turned out to be part of a drill — school officials hit a ‘panic button’ to make sure the police department was notified.

A Hix Bridge Road resident reported identity fraud at 11:50 a.m.

David S. Morse, 75, of 100 Christopher Circle, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and was cited for marked lane violations, after he was involved in an accident with injuries called in from Sanford Road at 7:52 p.m.

A 911 caller complained of a disturbance on Stanford Road at 9:22 p.m.

A stolen vehicle was reportedly recovered on Hix Bridge Road at 10:37 p.m.

Police pulled over and cited two drivers over the course of the day.

Saturday, Sept. 28

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Cherry and Webb Lane at 3:26 p.m.

Vitor Manuel Patella, 50, of 7 Mishaun Drive, Dartmouth, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, after police pulled him over on Route 88, at Drift Road, at 7:10 p.m.

A 911 caller reported suspicious activity on Sanford Road at 8:40 p.m., but police were unable to find the problem.

A noise complaint came in from Old Harbor Road at 10:10 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles over the course of the day, citing one driver, issuing two verbal warnings and arresting one.

Sunday, Sept. 29

Keith Allen Alix, 53, of 502 Brayton Ave., Apt. 2, Fall River, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and driving an unregistered vehicle, after police pulled him over on State Road at 1:34 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Old Bedford Road at 4:31 a.m., and from Old County Road at 5:22 p.m.

Police assisted after a 911 caller from Fisher Road complained of suspicious activity at 8:20 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles over the course of the day, issuing one citation, verbally warning three drivers and arresting one.
