Westport police logs: Two arrests this week

Monday, July 1

A noise complaint came in from Washington Street at 12:16 a.m.

Police tried but were unable to serve a warrant on American Legion Highway just after 6:30 a.m.

A Pine Hill Road caller reported receiving threats at 10:31 a.m.

A property damage call came in from Cornell Road at 2:02 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Tuesday, July 2

Animal complaints came in from Faulkner Street at 7:48 a.m.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Hix Bridge Road at 2:59 p.m.

Police pulled over 13 vehicles and issued seven citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, July 3

Animal complaints came in from Horseneck Road at 7:31 a.m., and from Main Road at 9:27 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on State Road just after 11 a.m. A similar call came in from Old County Road at 7:05 p.m.

A Sodom Road resident reported being threatened at 11:11 a.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Main Road at 12:23 p.m. A similar call came in from Old Bedford Road at 11:15 p.m.

A caller from East Beach Road complained of noise at 11:43 p.m.

Police pulled over seven vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Thursday, July 4

Mario Jorge Sousa, 48, of 5 Senechal Drive, Westport, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding, after police pulled him over on State Road at 1:23 a.m.

Police initiated a motor vehicle pursuit on State Road at 2:07 a.m., before transferring the matter to an outside agency.

Animal complaints came in from Route 88, at American Legion Highway, at 2:28 p.m.

Police pulled over four vehicles and issued four citations over the course of the day.

Friday, July 5

A noise complaint came in from Cherry and Webb Lane at 12:04 a.m.

A caller reported a disturbance at Courtney Drive and Tickle Road at 4:21 p.m., but police deemed it unfounded.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, issuing a warning.

Saturday, July 6

Animal complaints came in from Main Road at 12:22 p.m.

A caller from Sanford Road and Benoit Street reported a missing person at 4:37 p.m.

A noise complaint came in from Main Road at 10:33 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, issuing a warning.

Sunday, July 7

Angelina Aguiar, 22, of 28 Sodom Road, was arrested on a warrant after police pulled over a car on State Road, at Union Street, at 1:36 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Drift Road at 3:38 a.m., from Route 88 at 11:30 a.m., and from State Road at 4:52 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a structure fire on Forge Road was relayed to the fire department at 5:40 a.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, issuing a warning.
