Council approves licenses for Village Green on Main Street

The Beer Field is coming back.

Little Compton’s Village Green LLC earned unanimous review from the town council Thursday to run twice a month public parties on the ‘Village Green’ — the lawn outside 22 Main Road in Adamsville — starting May 23 and running through Oct. 10. The property is owned by the Kinnane family of St. Paddy’s Day parade and Hollywood fame.

The monthly parties began last year as a way to build community and provide a social outlet in the quiet village following the closure of the Barn and Simmons. They were lots of fun, LLC member Charles “Chuck” Kinnane said, and like last year, there will be beer and wine, food truck food, live music, lots of games and more.

Some months run Friday-Saturday while others run Saturday-Sunday, and the time is always 4-9 p.m. While music and other details are still being worked out, the dates are:

• Saturday and Sunday, May 23-24

• Friday and Saturday, June 12-13

• Friday and Saturday, July 3-4

• Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8

• Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5-6

• Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10
