Anthony B. Monteleone, age 92, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at his home in Bristol comforted by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Maisano) Monteleone, to whom he was married for 61 years before her passing in 2019.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Benedetto and Angela (Bochichio) Monteleone, he resided in Cleveland, OH, and Newington, Conn., with Barbara before settling in Bristol to raise their family.
A proud Veteran of the United States Army, he served as Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Monteleone earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Pharmacy. He was Chief of Pharmacy Service at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Newington, Conn., and Providence, R.I., for many years. In 1967, he and Barbara purchased and operated The Riverside Nursing Home in Riverside, R.I., for 37 years.

He enjoyed traveling, golf, walking at Colt State Park with friends, spending a day at Goosewing Beach, and tending to his garden and yard. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, that he so loved.

He is survived by one daughter, Nancy A. Parente and her husband Dennis of Bristol; one son, Anthony Monteleone of Lincoln; one brother, Michael Monteleone; three grandchildren, Alyssa Grace Parente and her partner Megan Sheerin, Jenna Rae Monteleone, and Jacqueline Rose Parente, and his loving nieces. He was the father of the late Michael Monteleone, grandfather of the late Michael J. Monteleone, and brother of the late Nicholas, Michael, and Angela Monteleone.

His funeral will be Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol followed by burial at Maria del Campo Cemetery, Barrington. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in the care of Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, Warren.
