Barrington’s Julie Gerstenblatt will sign copies of her debut novel “Daughters of Nantucket” at a special event at Inkfish Books in Warren on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m.

Centered around Nantucket’s Great Fire of 1846, the story follows Eliza, Meg and Maria: three very different women whose lives intersect as they fight to survive the blaze and overcome their own personal struggles.

Gerstenblatt has a deep love for Nantucket and was inspired to write her book because very little else had been written about the Great Fire of 1846.

The novel has already received praise.

“Gerstenblatt’s debut is, in a word, dazzling. Full of richly detailed history and also the spark and brilliance of Gerstenblatt’s imagination, this is a novel that’s so alive, every page gives off rare heat,” said Caroline Leavitt, New York Times bestselling author of “With or Without You.”
