June Ferreira, Warren

Outgoing and caring, she loved arts and crafts and working in the yard

Posted

June Ferreira passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 18, 2021. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Frank C. Harvey and Pearl (Sullivan) Harvey. She is survived by her husband James Ferreira of 60 years, her three sons Michael, David and Steven Ferreira, daughters-in-law Jeanne and Laura, and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, Noah, Mason and Tenley Ferreira.

June established a successful hairdressing career at a very young age due to her social and caring nature towards people, which then led into a long career with Roger Williams Cxollege as their main receptionist and greeter throughout the eighties and nineties, eventually retiring in 2004.

June was very outgoing, loving and caring towards friends, and always supportive to everyone she knew. She had always put family and friends first before herself and was the go-to close friend and mother that every family would strive to have. There were two things June did enjoy doing for herself and that was working in the yard and arts and crafts.

She had lived in Warren for over 24 years, coming from Bristol. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 8:30 am from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol.

Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St., Bristol.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
