The Warren Arts and Cultural Commission (WACC) has installed its sixth “pop-up” shop display featuring nine local artists in the storefront windows at Federal Hill Pizza located at 495 Main St.
All the art in the windows is up for purchase, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artist. Prices and contact information for the artists are posted in the storefront and interested customers can contact the artists through a QR code or by email.
Since last fall, 27 different artists have participated in the program and six pieces of art have been sold.
Artists participating in the current pop-up include: Gina Croce, John Irwin, Richard Kaiser, Angelo Marinosci Jr., Geraldine Purcell, Carol Riley, William Schaff, and Mark Wholey. Their art will be on display until Sept. 9, when new art by other Warren artists will take its place.
The Warren Arts and Culture Commission created the art pop-up shop program to provide opportunities for local artists who are not currently affiliated with a local gallery. Displays are updated every other month. Interested local artists who would like to participate in future displays may contact WACC at warrenartsandculturecommission@gmail.com.
WACC’s mission is to cultivate and support Warren’s diverse artistic, cultural and historical assets, to expand opportunities for public-facing art that reflects the Town’s unique environment and cultural heritage, and to provide access to the arts by the wider community.
