Pirate Playground now complete on Baker Street

The new “Pirate Playground,” located at the end of Baker Street in Warren, is now fully installed and ready for action. It features various climbing equipment, a slide and swing set, among other options.

Parks and Recreation Director Tara Thibaudeau provided the following updates to ongoing activities and projects within the department

  • Hugh Cole School will be hosting the Winter Wonderland December 17. They are reaching out to community members who would be interested in hosting a tree. Everyone in the community is welcomed to drive by on Friday December 17 to enjoy the event.
  • We are looking for members to join our community garden committee.
  • The Warren Dog Park is forming a community committee to work on phase two of the project, put together fundraising events, address park concerns, and work on community events at the dog park.
  • Please reach out to warrenrecreation@gmail.com if you are interested in joining either team.
  • The Warren Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Community Holiday Craft Fair Saturday Dec. 12, 2021, at Mary V Quirk School from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. We have over 30 local vendors with candles, jewelry, Christmas themed items, clothing, home décor, tumblers, and so much more. We will have activities for the children and light refreshments.
  • We are currently looking for three members to join the Warren Parks and Recreation Board. You can apply for the positions at the Warren Town Clerks office. The board meets the third Tuesday of the month. The Parks and Recreation Board serves the Town Council and Town Manager in an advisory role and assists the Director of Parks and Recreation in carrying out her duties and responsibilities.
