Maria Lacey took a pass from teammate Lola Silva and scored to give the Huskies an early 1-0 lead. Arden Wilkes scored the second goal for Mt. Hope. The game was tightly contested until North Kingstown opened the flood gates in the second half.
“Our game plan was when we got possession to slow the game down and take as much time off the clock as possible,” said head coach Kerri Giarrusso. “We had trouble winning possession off of the draw, which is a huge part of the game.”
“The team played loose, with tons of energy and left it all on the field,” Coach Giarrusso said. “I enjoyed coaching this team because they always give maximum effort and they never gave up. I am going to miss them dearly and can't wait to see them soar in the next chapter of their lives.”
Shivani Mehta was awarded first team All-Division. Wilkes and Lacey made second team All-Division. Emma Serbst made honorable mention and Maddison Butterworth was awarded All-Rookie.
