Warren Athletic Hall of Fame banquet returns Oct. 7

Posted

Everything is set for this year’s Warren Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, according to committee chairperson Martha Delekta.

“After a two-year shut down, we are ready to move forward,” said Delekta, in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic, which basically threw everything into a tailspin since the spring of 2020.

The Warren Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, at White’s of Westport, beginning at 5 p.m. Those wishing to purchase a ticket can call Ms. Delekta at 401-245-1361 or email: mgdelekta@cox.net.

This year’s induction class is very impressive. It includes Mike Bento, Tara Turnbull Kelly, James Merolla, Jorge Tributino, Doug Lanzire, Stephen Vargas, Edward “Satch” Jamiel, George Goulet, Mike Splain, Leon Urban, and the 1993 WHS Boys Basketball Team, 1993 WHS Girls Basketball Team, and the 1941 Crown Zippers Baseball Team.
