Warren PD: A monument climber, warrant arrests and a DUI

Monday, May 16
An injured bird, reported at 8:04 a.m. on Central Street, was transported to a wildlife rehabilitation facility at 8:30 a.m.

Jordan Stephenson, 28, of Bristol, turned himself in on warrant charges at 6:04 p.m. He was charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct (both first offenses). He was arraigned and released that evening.

Tuesday, May 17
Police searched for a vehicle near Market and Main Streets at 11:44 a.m. that was reportedly dragging a traffic cone. When they caught up with the driver, the cone had apparently become dislodged.

Police filed a report of a domestic disturbance occurring on Canario Drive at 1:19 p.m.

A woman reported her car had been hit while parked on Child Street at 3:57 p.m.

The Warren Fire Department assisted in putting out a car that had caught on fire on Water Street at 4:09 p.m.

Wednesday, May 18
Ducklings found on Schoolhouse Road at 8:16 a.m. were transported to a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Portsmouth shortly after.

DPW employees notified police at 8:26 a.m. that there was a man in a boat “throwing objects around” in the area of Market and Barney Streets. He was dispersed by police.

A resident reported at 1:04 p.m. they had been involved with an accident involving a fire hydrant on Water Street. They were no injured, but the hydrant was reported as out of service, and the fire chief was notified.

Police dispersed an individual who was reportedly climbing on the fire department monument on State Street at 11:40 p.m.

Thursday, May 19
A caller on Child Street requested help for a woman who had two partially severed fingers at 10:17 a.m. She was transported to the hospital.

Friday, May 20
A caller reported a deer was running throughout the roadway near Washington Street at 10:02 a.m. The animal did not appear to be injured.

A possibly sick possum was reported on Main Street at 11:21 a.m. but was not located. Another report of a possibly sick possum was filed shortly after on Metacom Avenue at 1:12 p.m., but was again not located.

Mark Bosco, 69, of Warren, was arrested on a superior court warrant at 12:15 p.m. He was transported to court later that day.

Nevaeh Jackson, 20, of Newport, was arrested following an incident outside a business on Main Street at 4:21 p.m. She had been wanted on charges in Newport, and was transported into their custody later that evening.

A drummer was reportedly playing loudly in the band shell on Water Street at 7:53 p.m. He was dispersed by police and given a ride back home.

Saturday, May 21
A caller on Child Street reported that several juveniles were throwing glass bottles onto the sidewalk at 4:41 a.m. Police found the crew and reported they had cleaned up the mess, and would be notifying their parents of the happenings.

Vehicles were reportedly operating on the bike path near Hope Street at 2:22 p.m. but they were gone when police arrived.

Sunday, May 22
Michael Kurkoski, 69, of Warren, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Campbell Street at 1:11 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, second offense), and for refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and transported back to his residence later that morning.

Shawn Ryan, 31, of Warren, was arrested following an incident on Child Street at 6:15 p.m. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

A man who was reported by multiple callers on Joyce Street to be yelling outside of an apartment building was dispersed by police at 6:32 p.m.

Monday, May 23
A caller on Main Street reported that multiple items had been taken from and moved around their apartment.
