Barrington High School senior Asher Robbins racked up a number of accolades during the indoor track season.
The standout weight thrower won the Rhode Island state championship with a top distance of 74 feet. Following states, Robbins competed in the Nike Nationals and the New Balance Nationals. At Nike Nationals, Robbins finished third with a throw of 74 feet, 5.75 inches. And at New Balance Nationals, Robbins finished fourth; his top throw at that event was 73 feet, 1.75 inches.
The top-six finishes earn Robbins an All-American designation.
Robbins’ teammates Liam Capozza and Michael Fay also competed at the New Balance and Nike National Championships. And fellow Eagle Lily Cregan competed in the rising star category at the New Balance Nationals, finishing in second place.
